Water well installations for most projects take roughly two weeks as the pre-installation process – such as acquiring permits, which Aaqua Drilling will do for you following an in-person consultation – takes some time. Once your property has been examined and granted a permit, the installation itself usually takes less than a day, though it can take up to 4-5 days to complete depending on the size of the well.
Every project is different, and the cost can vary widely based on location, depth and the type of well drilled. Aaqua Drilling cannot provide an exact answer on pricing for any project until an in-person consultation and examination of your property is performed.
There are three common types of water wells, each with differences in their construction and maintenance needs:
Aaqua Drilling can construct all three well types, with solutions tailored to your property’s needs. Visit our Well Service page for more information.
A water well’s flow rate, typically measured in gallons per minute (GPM), depends on several factors, including the size of building(s) the well is providing water for. For most homes, a 6-12 GPM flow rate is enough to support the daily needs of a family with moderate water usage. GPM needs can change dramatically depending on the demand from the well, however, especially if you’re using your well for commercial purposes (farm and ranch, industry, etc;).
A well-built and well-maintained water well can last for decades, giving your property a reliable, clean source of water you can depend on. Aaqua Drilling can perform water well testing and inspection services after installation to ensure that your well is running properly and your water is safe to use.
Aaqua Drilling has locations in Joliet, Montana and Powell, Wyoming, with a work area spanning roughly a 100-mile radius of each of our locations. Though we can provide services outside of these areas, please note that your project may be subject to additional charges.
On most days when we are open, Aaqua Drilling will have a representative available at our locations that is able to answer questions. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that private well owners test their water annually. Aaqua Drilling can perform water well testing and inspection services that ensure that your well is running properly and your water is safe to use.
It is important to test your water yearly for total coliforms (specific types of bacteria), total dissolved solids, nitrates, pH levels and other germs and chemicals of concern in your area. Though some levels of bacteria and nitrates in water are normal and safe for use, elevated levels of either – or specific types of bacteria, which can be found on the CDC’s website – can be a cause for concern.
Call us at (406) 962-3202 or (307) 764-3603 if you notice changes in your water’s quality, such as by taste, color and smell.
The National Ground Water Association’s Water Well Loans program offers convenient payment options for your project, including same-as-cash loans with no interest and no payment period. Contact Aaqua Drilling to see if a NGWA Water Well Loan is right for you.
The Montana Ground Water Information Center and the Groundwater Atlas of Wyoming each provide publicly accessible data for most wells in each state, including depth, water level and surrounding geologic material.
